Guido Oelkers, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Guido Oelkers, PhD, joined BSN medical in January 2014. He began his career in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry at Hoechst AG in 1994, where he was exposed to a wide array of interdisciplinary managerial roles. He went on to lead several country organisations at Hoechst and Aventis Pharma as General Manager in New Zealand, Indonesia and China. From 2000 until 2006, Guido served as EVP and Global Head of Healthcare at DKSH. He was then appointed CEO of Invida Pharmaceutical Holdings. From 2008 until 2011, Guido was EVP of Commercial Operations at Nycomed. He then served as CEO and President of Gambro for more than two years before joining BSN medical.
Guido holds a Master of Business Administration from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, an MA in Economics from the University of London and a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
At BSN medical, Guido is Chief Executive Officer of the group.
Jens Kimmig, PhD
Chief Financial Officer
Jens Kimmig, PhD, joined BSN medical in April 2016. He began his career at the GEA Group AG as Business Specialist and Director of Controlling and Accounting. In 2002 he was promoted Managing Director and CFO of GEA´s Business Unit Thermosets and subsequently Managing Director and CFO of the Division Plastics. After 11 years with GEA, Jens joined Plastal Group AB in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2006 as CFO. His latest assignment before joining BSN medical was as CFO with Autobahn Tank & Rast Group in Germany.
Jens holds a Master of Business Administration from Philipps University Marburg, Germany and a PhD in Business from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.
In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Jens is responsible for Global Finance and Global IT of BSN medical.
Emil Billbäck joined BSN medical in June 2004. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry at Astra Zeneca, before joining Beiersdorf. After 4 years as Division Manager for the Nordic region and Baltic States, Emil joined BSN medical. After a role as Global Marketing Director in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA for Compression Therapy global business unit he was appointed, in 2006, as Vice President Global Marketing and played a fundamental role in selling BSN to Montagu Private Equity and making BSN medical an independent entity. In 2008, he was appointed Group Director Marketing and Innovation and became a member of GMC. His regional responsibility was Asia-Pacific and emerging markets.
Emil holds a B.S.C in Business Administration from the University of Karlstad, Sweden.
In his role as EVP EMEA, Emil is responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Felix Dahm, MD
EVP Innovation & Strategic Development
Felix Dahm, MD, joined BSN medical in February 2014. A medical doctor by training, he used to practice in visceral and transplantation surgery as well as surgical critical care at a university hospital. Felix also completed a postdoc in basic science. In 2007 he joined The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), working with multiple clients in pharmaceuticals, biotech, medtech, hospitals and public health. He left BCG in 2011 as a Project Leader to join Nycomed as the Director of Portfolio and Interface Management. He was then a member of the Executive Committee at Gambro where he was responsible for Corporate Strategy and Business Development in addition to the innovation pipeline.
Felix holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.
At BSN medical, Felix is EVP Innovation and Strategic Development, which encompasses Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Research & Development, Scientific and Medical Affairs, as well as Regulatory Affairs.
President North America
Todd Healy joined BSN medical in January 2016 as President North America. His experience spans over 30 years in the US healthcare marketplace. Prior to joining BSN medical, Todd served as Senior Vice President of Provider Services, Corporate Officer for Owens & Minor. Todd joined Owens & Minor as General Manager in New England and was promoted to Division Vice President, Area Vice President, and Regional Vice President. Previously, Todd was a General Manager for Stuart Medical. He has also served in a variety of sales roles with Johnson & Johnson Orthopaedics and began his career at Procter & Gamble.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He completed the Colgate Darden Executive Development course at the University of Virginia and the Global Leadership in Healthcare course at the University of Michigan.
In his role as President North America, Todd is responsible for the US and Canadian marketplace.
Chief Legal Officer & EVP Global Human Resources
Sebastian Köhler joined BSN medical in June 2015. Prior to joining BSN medical, he was attorney-at-law at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for over seven years. Sebastian worked as Principal Associate in Freshfields' corporate department where he regularly led international teams advising clients on domestic as well as complex cross-border mergers & acquisitions. Sebastian also brings experience in general corporate law, post-merger integration and carve-outs. His sector expertise comprises various branches including private equity, healthcare as well as consumer products. In 2014, he was seconded to the group strategy department of an international financial institution in New York.
Sebastian graduated from the Westfälische Wilhelms-University Münster, Germany and is admitted to the German Bar of attorneys.
In his role at BSN medical, Sebastian is Chief Legal Officer and EVP Global Human Resources.
EVP Global Operations
Ann Maitland joined BSN medical in 2001. Beginning her career with Smith & Nephew Textiles in 1974 within the Surgical Dressings business, she held various positions within a manufacturing capacity before being promoted to Manufacturing Director of the Medical Fabrics Division in 1998. Following the formation of BSN medical in 2001, Ann had subsequent responsibility as VP Operations within the Orthopaedics global business unit. In 2006, she was appointed Senior VP responsible for Global Operations. She continues to manage the operations side of the business today.
In her role as EVP Global Operations, Ann is responsible for Global Logistics, Global Procurement, Global Supply Chain and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
EVP Latin America
Norbert Oppitz joined BSN medical in June 2016. He has over 26 years of emerging market management experience in the healthcare industry, having overseen the growth and development of businesses especially in Latin America as well as in South Africa and the Middle East North Africa Region. He served as SVP Latin America at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International GmbH since 2010 and held various General Management positions in Latin America beforehand. Since 2014, he has been a member of the Executive Committee of Endo International plc and overlooked emerging markets as a Regional President. In this capacity he also was responsible for areas of the medtech business in Latin America.
Norbert holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz, Germany.
In his role as EVP LATAM, Norbert is responsible for the Latin American business of BSN which encompasses operations in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Chile as well as third party distribution business in additional countries.
EVP Asia Pacific
Erik Trock-Jansen joined BSN medical in August 2014. He has had a long association with Asian healthcare, having lived in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan and worked with Australia/New Zealand and India. Previous companies he has worked for include: DKSH, McKinsey & Co., Medicom, Novartis and Tytex/Norafin. His most recent positions prior to joining BSN were Head of Gambro APAC from 2012 to September 2013 and Head of Baxter-Gambro APAC Renal from September 2013 to April 2014.
Erik holds a Master of Business Administration from IMD.
In his role as EVP Asia Pacific, Erik is responsible for the Asian Pacific business of BSN which encompasses focus countries like Australia/New Zealand and Japan; emerging markets of ASEAN and India; Pakistan and export markets of China, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Charl van Zyl
EVP Global Commercial
Charl van Zyl joined BSN in June 2014. He has held commercial leadership roles in two large pharmaceutical companies, namely Eli Lilly Inc. and Novartis AG, spanning across a number of international markets, including South Africa, Japan, North America and Europe. Charl was also part of the Novartis Corporate Executive Group as Head of Pharma Marketing and Sales for Europe. After that, he served as a CEO of JADO GmbH, an early stage Biotech company originating from the Max Planck Institute. He has then served on the Bausch+Lomb Inc. Executive Leadership Team, holding the position of Corporate Vice President and President EMEA.
Charl holds a BSc Med Hons. degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
At BSN medical, Charl is EVP for Global Commercial, being responsible for the Global Franchises of Orthopaedics and Wound Care & Vascular, Commercial Excellence, Commercial Communication and Business Management.
