BSN medical is supporting the Chief Nursing Officer’s Summit in Liverpool this week, with Jane Mayes, BSN medical Clinical Nurse Specialist providing lower limb health checks in line with the “Looking After Legs” campaign.
Lower limb disease is closely associated with obesity and many other co-morbidities like vascular issues and lymphoedema, with huge costs to the NHS incurred through avoidable hospital admissions and outpatients. Early detection of disease progression will reduce the number of people presenting with conditions that include leg ulcers, leaking legs and chronic oedema.
